the land of "if only"

Hi my lovelys. I hope you haven't minded my sparatic blogging here and there. It'll level out. Today I'm not entirely sure what I want to write about. All my good ideas are spontaneous and from above, haha! Lately, what have I been feeling? I have been stuck in the little rut of my mind going about everything in my life. I have been into these lovely books lately, and am finishing the series, thanks to a great friend! A key point one of the girls in the books makes is the land of "if onlys". Oh how I can relate! 
"If only I had these shoes!"

"If only I looked like her!"

"If only I could fit in their crowd!"

In our mind, we decorate the walls, slap some ice cream in a bowl, and throw ourselves a mental "if only" party! I have been the culprit to do this oh so many times! It's so easy to look at others, and other people, and other things, and wish if we could only be like them and have what they have! 

I have come to tell you, friends, to take down your decor and put away your ice cream! 

As the fleshly humans we are, we get caught up in this petty practice! It only seems to trouble us more!

I just want to get at that we can't constantly be consumed and live in the land of "if only". We must passionately pursue Him with all our hearts and minds. Completely devoted we have to stand. 

We must turn over the key to our hearts and focus our minds on the true reason.

The lovely series I have been reading is called the "Christy Miller" series by Robin Jones Gunn. Highly recommend reading them!
