It's good to back on blogging again! I started back into school this week, and it wasn't half as bad as I thought, but I've been so caught up I've forgotten to jot my thoughts down! So here they are! :)
Sitting in a completely clean, tidy house is one of the most relieving feelings. You feel organized, in place, and over all, like you somewhat got it together. But the outside doesn't always reflect the in. Let me elaborate;
When you meet someone it's really easy to take one quick peek at them and determine their emotional state. But do we really know what's going? Okay okay, so what does this have to do with cleaning house (or heart?). Well, if we think that our outside reflects our in, what's on the inside? Sometimes we get so caught up cleaning up the outside, putting our life in order, organizing our problems, planning our days, we forget to tidy up the inside.
I am by no means perfect in this. I am just as much of a culprit as the next. But that my friend is always where Jesus steps in with mercy. I can tell if I go one day without "cleaning heart" I get irritated 10 times faster than usual (proven fact!), I'm fast to anger and definitely not slow to put my two sense in. I feel like a balloon designed to explode at the slightest touch.
Luke 6:45 says "The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks."
This verse is something to live by. If I constantly remind myself, "Out of the abundance, the heart speaks" I quickly realize that I need to do a little dusting in the ole' heart. When I speak a nasty word, I think "Do I have a nasty heart?" A quick thought a can really impact and make you realize what you say.
Keeping a clean heart can tend to be a big job if you try to do it by yourself. But who said you had to do it alone? Try this: before your feet hit the floor each morning, give you heart chores a check and give then to God! Pray for Him to keep them (and you!) in check throughout the day!
Matthew 26:40 " “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
So when you got the urge to word overflow, clean the heart! The more you do it, the more it becomes like second nature, and eventually you wonder why you even had a dust problem! ;)
much love as always readers,
