(purpose of change)

Some recent talks and chats with my good friends got me thinking:

Why do I blog?

I got this little idea in my head after reading one of my dear friends blogs, "hey," the voice said "you could do that too."

So after many nights sitting up past midnight and late phone calls designing a blog, JacyRaynUnbroken was born.

The name fit. I had been through so much the recent months before, and I wanted to share what being through tough times had made me; it made me stronger. It solidified my faith. It shaped me to be a better me.

And ultimately, it made me what I am,

unbroken.

So here I am now. I run this little blog with a small group of followers, but why?

There are a lot of things that keep me going on this. Through the weeks where I completely neglected my blog because I had no motivation, through the weeks where I blogged every single day, to the times where I didn't even know if I wanted to keep the blog anymore. The one thing that kept my fire burning was desire to change.

Everyone always has at least one thing they would like to change about themselves. Physically, mentally, spiritually. We can always find room for improvement. But change with out purpose is useless.

I have seen so many people with the desire to change their life, change others life, even change the world, but they lack a purpose that won't come to a dead end eventually.

My dear readers this is where Jesus steps in. (but doesn't he step in everywhere anyway? hah!)

"For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay." Habakkuk 2:3

After searching for answers in the world becoming older I finally realized that there is only one driving purpose that will suffice as fuel for the fire in your heart; and that's Jesus Christ.

There is no greater purpose than that of the Father's business.

I realized after months of wondering that my blog wasn't about the people, it wasn't about the comments, it wasn't about the look.

It was about me finding my purpose.

And my purpose is to show Jesus and His love and grace to everyone I come in contact with. To give them something that they can't find in the world. To give them something that only can be given.

So here I am. Still blogging. With all the different reasons I blog I want the core one to be to show my love, for we are nothing without love.

mucho amor, readers

"The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands." Psalms 138:8
