heyoooo! it's been a minute but I figured I better jump on the Christmas blog post bandwagon before it leaves! so here I am.
most everyone is breaking down what Christmas exactly means to them, what they enjoy most about it, and what makes their heart smile.
mine? i'm not so sure.
when I think about Christmas I think of the joy it brings. I love to make people happy and to see them at their best makes me uber excited. I also think of remembrance, of quite a few different things. a lot of people look back at their past loved ones, past memories, and history.
when I remember Christmas I remember the oh-so famous story of the baby boy who changed the world.
walk around and ask and you can bet at least half of the people you ask will know the Christmas story. Jesus came to earth through the Virgin Mary. after miracles and teaching he was nailed to a cross after being beaten to die for us.
now this is great, we remember our Savior being born! but I think we shift the focus too much on his birth, and not enough on His coming.
we all put up the cute nativity scenes with baby Jesus, His parents, and the wise men and animals. but do you ever see someone putting up a adult sculpt of Jesus Christ on a cloud coming back to get us?
highly unlikely.
now, am I saying we should just shun and forget Jesus' birth!? no way! it is an event to be remembered for all eternity!
but I think we should spend a little more time rejoicing that soon, (and very soon, at that!) that our Saviour is coming back to get us and take us back with Him for all eternity.
I don't know about you, but that makes me wanna shout out of joy!
so this holiday season, rejoice at the birth of The King, but find you greater joy and love in your salvation and the second coming!
happy holidays to you all!
always in love,
JR
