living for today and not cramming

HELLO WORLD!

yes, it's me again.

I promise I haven't fallen off the edge of the world or anything terrible like that!

So skipping the long descriptions, just know I plan to be a staple in your life with updates! I know I have written a post similar to this, but I have the nagging that I can't just let this one pass me up.

Today I want to talk about the weekends. Ah the glorious word that entails of NO school and work(most usually)! Weekends are and can be a great bridge and break between Monday and Friday, trust me, I know that first hand.

But the really important question is, are we simply living for the weekends?

I know I am. But I plan on changing that.

As a youth, I know what it's like just to try to "get through till Friday". I find myself wishing that today simply wasn't today. And that, my friends, can become a problem. We just go and go and all we want is that sweet taste of minimum responsibilities and the air of freedom.

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. "So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:33-34

I am constantly reminded of this verse, day and night. No matter how many posts I post, this one is always tugging at my heart reminding me. I've used this verse countless times but the meaning and places it applies continues to grow and never changes.

never. changing.

That's how we should picture God.

Still trying to rush and cram all of this stuff, including God, into our life's just isn't how it works. We try to see how much we can shove into the week and then when the weekend hits, we pretend nothing happened.

We move on. We take a break. And then we go back to shoving everything.

I am learning that I cannot be a weekend-liver nor can I be a shove-er. We cannot simply put God and our life in a box! Life is such a beautiful mess, but the mess becomes very ugly when we try to make it pocket-sized. We can't say, "Oh hey God! yeah I think we have a 9:30 AM appointment, and then I think I can handle the world on my own! Okay? So just sit tight right here and I'll call if I need you. But I can do this"

That's just not how it works.

one day at a time.

that's how I'm going to be taking life from now on.

I'm going to stop trying to shove everything into my life, and I'm going to stop trying to stop putting God in a box. He absolutely desires with all of His heart to help us. But if we put limits on Him, then He can't.

We have to understand we serve a limitless God.If we just give it all, whole-heartedly, He will make our life flow instead of crammed, graceful instead of never going the way we want. It will be an elegant whole week, instead of a disastrous 5 day week, and a somewhat relieving weekend.

He can show us magnificent things, we just have to remember to take it one day at a time., Let Him have you plans today and then look at tomorrow when tomorrow arrives.

Well my loves, I do believe that is all for this messy, but endearing blog pot.

thank you, truly
