Upon This Rock

Hey guys! So just taking a quick look back at my week last week, I was thinking really hard.

We had a spontaneous revival break out last week and it was awesome! We had a guest speak who preached. One of the things that he said that seemed to really stick with me was a passage in Matthew 16:18-19

“And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.”

He went on with the service but it got me thinking.

Who is the “rock”?

The rock is Jesus.

Okay so. Jesus is the Rock yay, what now? What about the church? If we take a look at 1 Corinthians 6:19 we find this:

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;”

So we are the church, and Jesus is the Rock! So we are to build ourselves on Jesus! Pretty plain and simple, right?

I think sometimes as Christians, and me as a teenager, I get caught up trying to put other things as my foundation, my rockmy life.

Social status, clothes, friends, even my family!

But the truth is, it’s just not real. You can’t build a a hug sky scraper on water, can you?

Nope! You have to put your WHOLE trust in Jesus, not just a little! If you built half of your building on land (Jesus) and then half on water (Worldly things), it wouldn’t stay!

Sometimes it seems really, really hard to do this. The world beats us down and we find it really hard to place our trust in Jesus because we’ve had it broken by others. But I’m going to tell you, Jesus is the friend that will never ever leave you or break your trust!

That’s all for now, my loves!
